BC Culture Days

As part of the Luminaries Program, this screening event as a part of BC Culture Days is held annually in the fall.

This year’s BC Culture Days event is October 4, 2026.

This event is designed to engage, uplift, and inspire youth and emerging filmmakers through storytelling, dialogue, and creative exchange. The program centres young voices and provides meaningful access to the filmmaking ecosystem through both presentation and participation.

Programming includes:

  • Screenings of several short films and selected film trailers by emerging and established filmmakers
  • Film screening blocks, each followed by a moderated filmmaker Q&A focused on craft, process, and pathways into the industry
  • Facilitated information sessions and interactive workshops introducing and detailing the Storyteller’s Contest, supporting youth in developing and submitting their own creative work
  • Dedicated networking time for youth and emerging filmmakers to connect with peers, mentors, and industry professionals

This event is designed to be welcoming, accessible, and aspirational, offering young creatives a supportive space to learn, ask questions, and envision their next steps in film and storytelling.
