Luminaries Student and Youth Program (16+)

This initiative is designed to help us create meaningful pathways for youth to engage with social justice filmmaking within our local community.

Mission Statement: to support local youth in social justice by creating meaningful pathways for involvement in Sundar Prize Film Festival’s community-focused programming designed for the next generation of filmmakers and activists through education, opportunities, and awards.

About the Program

The Luminaries program is committed to being accessible and inclusive, open to youth of all backgrounds regardless of previous film experience. Participants join a community of filmmakers and activists working on projects that reflect care, justice, and creative impact.

Luminaries will also have opportunities to volunteer, join the student shortlist jury, or potentially have their film premiere at the BC Student Film Showcase during the 2026 Sundar Prize Film Festival.
