Be Part of the Festival
The Sundar Prize Film Festival is powered by the passion and dedication of our volunteers. From greeting guests and assisting at screenings to supporting special events, volunteers are the heart of our festival. This is your chance to gain hands-on experience, connect with filmmakers, and be part of an inspiring community celebrating powerful storytelling and social change.
Volunteer Program Description
Our Volunteer Program offers opportunities to get involved in all areas of the festival, including:
- Guest Services – Welcome audiences, assist with seating, and provide information
- Box Office & Ticketing – Support ticket check-ins and pass distribution
- Event Support – Help set up and take down venues, assist at receptions and panels
- Hospitality – Support filmmakers and VIP guests
We look for team players who bring enthusiasm, professionalism, and a willingness to learn.
Eligibility Requirements
Volunteers must:
- Be 19+ years old
- Exceptions:
- Ages 16–18 – May volunteer with parental consent. They do not need to be supervised by a parent or guardian.
- Under 16 years old – May volunteer with parental consent and must be supervised by a parent or legal guardian during their shift. They can be in school or not.
- Live in Metro Vancouver or the Fraser Valley
- Be a team player with a positive attitude
- Be willing to work flexible hours during the festival and be reliable and punctual
- Attend orientation and training sessions as required
- Stay in regular communication with the Manager of Volunteers

How to Apply
- Prepare your cover letter, resume, and two professional references.
- If you are under 19, download and complete the Parental Consent Form.
- Ages 16–18: No supervision required by their parent or legal guardian
- Under 16: Must be supervised by a parent or legal guardian during their shift

- Applications open March 15, 2026 for the 2026 Sundar Prize Film Festival. The deadline to apply is April 10, 2026 (one week before the festival to allow time for a volunteer orientation)
